The Academy was the first American history high school in the country created in 1996 with the cooperation and partnership of the Queens High Schools Superintendency and the . We are recognized as the flagship high school of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American history and the institute has taken the model of the Academy and duplicated it all across the country.
