Spirit Week
Hey Academy!Do you want to show school pride and earn community service towards the school community category? Participate by dressing up for Spirit Week, from Monday, December 9th to Friday, December 13th.Students will receive an hour of community service per day (in the school community category) each day they participate. Community service sheets can be picked up in Room 111 and will be signed off during the beginning of 9th period each day outside of Room 111.We hope to see you participate!Themes of the week:-

Homecoming Dance
Hello Academy!As we approach Homecoming season, we are proud to announce that our 2024-2025 Homecoming theme will be 鈥淢eet Me Under the Stars!鈥 Join us on Friday, December 13th from 5-8PM in the Cafeteria. We鈥檒l have food, drinks, DJ and more! Have fun with friends by taking pictures in our Photo Booth, dancing to music, and have a lasting memory underneath the stars!Homecoming does have a dress attire!The following items below are discouraged:-
Sweats/ Jeans

T-shirt/ Tank-tops/ Athletic wear
Formal Attire Clothing Encouraged:-

Formal dresses (Mid- length or Floor Length)
If you would like to attend, the ticket price for this year is $10. This ticket is redeemable for entry, a plate and a drink. Please make sure to bring in the money to Room 111 or to a Student Government member. In addition to purchasing a ticket, you are required to bring a signed parent permission slip and behavioral contract to the event. The slip is attached to this email or pick up a permission slip from Room 111 and bring in your ID on December 13th.Interested in running for HOCO Court? ** IMPORTANT**In order to run for a Homecoming title, you MUST fill out the form to nominate yourself. There are also requirements you must obtain if you run, which can be found on the poster attached and the google form linked below.Google Form Link:This year our Homecoming Court will be:-

GILDER LEHRMAN FLAGSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
The Academy was the first American history high school in the country created in 1996 with the cooperation and partnership of the Queens High Schools Superintendency and the . We are recognized as the flagship high school of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American history and the institute has taken the model of the Academy and duplicated it all across the country.
